You experience a fairly standard 'Book of' mechanic in this game, and as usual, the base game mainly involves grinding with occasional smaller payouts. Eligible players (excluding those from the UK) can purchase the bonus round for 100 times the stake, and it includes 2 selected expanding symbols instead of the usual 1. The 6,000x potential is higher than the usual for these types of games, and we had a generally enjoyable time testing Book of Wizard Double Chance.

The book serves a dual purpose as both a wild and a scatter symbol, which is not uncommon in the slot machine genre. As a wild symbol, it substitutes for all regular pay symbols to help you complete winning combinations, and it is also the most valuable symbol in the game. In this game, getting 5 of a kind awards 500 times your stake, just like the Wizard symbol. The other 3 premium symbols pay either 75 times or 200 times your stake for the same combination.
As a scatter, the Book pays 2, 20, or 200 times your stake for 3, 4, or 5 anywhere in view. Additionally, this triggers the Bonus Round with 10 free spins to begin with. The book opens, and two pay symbols will be chosen randomly. Many times, you will receive one premium symbol and one royal symbol as the special expanding symbols, but this is not always the case.
During the bonus round, the selected symbols become special expanding scatter win symbols. Premiums pay for 2 to 5 symbols on different reels, and these symbols expand to cover the full reel after any regular payouts have been calculated. Royals pay for 3 to 5 symbols in the same manner. The two selected symbols will alternate expanding and paying if you land enough of both. Landing 3 or more scatters retriggers the feature, adding 10 extra spins to your total.
Non-UK players and individuals residing in eligible jurisdictions can buy the bonus round for 100 times the total stake. This guarantees at least 3 scatters on the spin that follows, which starts you off with a scatter win of at least 2 times your stake.
